Recording artist and Silver screen queen, Vanessa Williams wed her partner in what was a gorgeous Egyptian themed celebration featuring exotic dancers, extravagant décor and even more extravagant invitations which would have only been fit for a queen like herself.

The History
Williams and her partners love story began when they met whilst cruising the Nile on a trip to Egypt – hence the inspiration for her celebration. Working with renowned wedding planner Carla Measer-Costamagna and UK based wedding Invitation company Adorn the teams worked closely with Vanessa to develop and inspire ideas and details which would not only be a part of the actual wedding ceremony but would also trickle down into the actual design of Vanessa’s invitations.

The Process
The team at Adorn settled on opulent décor such as golden glimmer table settings, Peonie flowers and golden laser cut cupcake holders. With a special eye for detail – the design team made sure to incorporate all of these elements into the design even replicating the exact lace detailing on Vanessa’s gown on to the outside skirting of her invitation. However it was the elegant touch of 24k gold that truly set Vanessa’s invitations apart and added that Royal element.

A Golden Touch
Representing new beginnings and spiritual awakening, the Lotus flower held a truly special place in Vanessa and Jim’s love story. Embedded onto the inside of Vanessa’s own engagement ring, the team at Adorn couldn’t help but to also fall in love with the small but meaningful memento. So of course the team made sure to incorporate the design in the most glamorous way possible – a 24k gold emblem on the front of every invitation. With a gold foiled inner lining from the companies curious metallic range paired with the companies own unique colour of Marsala which was created specifically for the design, the invitations fit in beautifully with the rest of the ceremonies extravagant Egyptian atmosphere.

From Vanessa’s gown down to the décor and of course the invitations; the ceremony came together in a spectacular and luxurious way. Vanessa was absolutely thrilled with the final design saying “they were an absolute hit with our guests!” The design will be put into production later this year at lower costs so all brides will be able to enjoy the luxury of a wedding fit for a queen.
