The new collection is inspired by the company’s long, successful history. New styles include dresses made up of “separates”, a delightful pairing of bodices and skirts. This concept divides the dress into two pieces allowing for great mix and match possibilities. Other stars of the collection are the jeweled dresses, where gemstone embroidery in different tones takes center stage. The shirtdress also continues to be on trend and one of the Pronovias hallmarks.

Sumptuous fabrics are the essence of the Atelier Pronovias collection and include exquisite French and Chantilly lace, mikado silk, crepe and brocade. There is also plenty of satin and soft satin conjured into lingerie-inspired dresses with a touch of Hollywood glamour from the thirties and forties. Tulle has been used to create sinuous layering on long sleeves and at the neckline and back, all embellished with delicate embroidery creating a magical tattoo effect on the skin. Plunging backs and necklines with floral lace, new hand-draping and embroidery in pastel colors give a romantic air to the  gowns presented for the brand’s 50th anniversary.

The set for the runway show was a replication of the Mudejar-style facade of the Pronovias flagship store in Seville, a historical building that appears on the list of World Heritage properties. The wooden facade with its perspex windows was brought to life with a images from the brand’s archives and images of the design and sewing team, all in an atmosphere of love.
