HONEYMOON DESTINATION TWIST: FISH&CHEF FESTIVAL LAGO DI GARDA (Part 2)
On our second day during the Fish&Chef Festival we embarked on an early gondola ride up to Monte Baldo. Soon afterwards, it was time for lunch at Vecchia Malcesine Ristorante with owner/operator Chef Leandro Luppi – our gastronomic host! Luppi is the Chef who first came up with the idea of the Fish&Chef Festival with the vision of allowing tourism to experience the best quality of flavours from the region.
From left to right, Spaguetto al Pomodoro: Vacuum cooked with concentrated tomato on the bottom and tomato juice with basil on top. A delicious meatball is served on the top of flavored saffron rice cream.
From left to right, cooked onion with ‘robiola’, fresh cheese and Monte Baldo truffle. Creamy risotto a la carbonara cooked in Parmesan and egg broth served with marinated white fish ‘Lavarello’ bits.
From left to right, Rhombus fish with olive oil, garlic and peperoncino, cherry tomatoes and eggplant. Dessert is a perfect balance of Gianduia mousse with gelato panna with licorice, oil and salt sauce.
After an exquisite lunch, our visit in Malcesine continued to Castello Scaligero, the symbol of the city which is located on the east shore of Lago Di Garda. It has been only the last 5o years that this charming town has developed a growth in tourism. During the months from April to October they celebrate more than 360 weddings! You can book Castello Scaligero as a unique venue for your wedding ceremony. Palazzo Capitani, located on the lake’s shore, was constructed by the Scala family and is another dream venue were weddings can be celebrated.
