Can you imagine saying your vows on virtually the highest easily accessible location on the West Coast, overlooking the mountains, coves and inlets of BC? Travel from Sea to Sky with a gondola ride up ‘The Cheif’.
I had the privilege of shooting at this location last August 2014 for Katherine and Mark’s wedding celebration on the summit of the Sea to Sky Gondola near Squamish, BC. www.seatoskygondola.com/about/virtual-tour
This couple met, of all places, in Kuwait while teaching English at an institute. Katherine was from Vancouver, and Mark is a citizen of the United Kingdom.
The wedding party portraits session started along the north end of Howe Sound with the Chief as a mountain background. Ascending to the top of the gondola, the wedding couple then commenced with their nuptials overlooking the spectacular coastal mountain scenery, finishing with a walk along the infamous suspension bridge.
The evening ended with an appropriate traditional celebratory Scottish dance on the summit lounge patio.
Congrats Katherine and Mark! ☺

When it comes to one of the most memorable days of your life, you want everything to go perfectly. What you need to consider for having children at weddings.
For some of you that means all your friends and family, and friends of families family…but wait…what about the children? If you are reading this post then you have probably hummed and hawed about what to do and how to approach this issue.. The answer? With pre-planning and some creativity!
Deciding whether or not to have a a child friendly wedding can sometimes come as a hard feat. Many factors are involved… What are the ages? Do we have it in our budget? How many people can our venue hold? How many children would there be? Is it a quiet, intimate affair? or a all-night party dance off kind of night? Do our caterers have child friendly options available? Do we even want them there at all?
Quite frankly, weddings are a celebration of two becoming one, the beginning of a new family.. to cherish and share with the ones you love and love you right back, a beautiful part of your life. Although children can be loud and crazy they are apart of your family and should take part in it.
If you decide this is not an option for you, simply the best way would be to state it on the invitations… so it is upfront… clear and precise. When addressing the envelopes write “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” as opposed to “The Smith Family” which would imply right away who is invited. Include an RSVP Card where the response has to be circled as opposed to the guests writing their own…
RSVP without children example:
We are able to attend the wedding YES or NO
Number of spots reserved 1 or 2
RSVP with children:
We will be able to attend the wedding ____________
We will not be able to attend the wedding __________
Number of Adults ___________
Number of Children ___________
BUT… If you are having children there are lots of fun filled ideas that can make everything run soother. Like…
Hiring a babysitter for the evening.. Delegate a certain area to create a ‘kids corner’ or a special room, where they can be free to spin in circles and chase their tails. Professional baby sitters are a wonderful idea when you want your guests to be free to mingle, and the children are able to be in a safe and fun environment. Also this saves your guests the hassle of finding their own babysitters for the evening and they can probably stay a little later!
Hiring an Entertainer.. How about a magician or a scientist? The parents would love it and be greatly appreciative that the extra mile was taken to have their little ones entertained and there are so many great options out there!
Food Options..Fill their little tummies with food that appeals to them. Catering companies can usually do a large bowl of Mac’n’cheese or even chicken strips.. make sure to have juice on hand as most children don’t drink carbonated beverages and will get thirsty running around. For the oh-so-sassy little ladies in the house, what about Shirley Temples or Virgin Pina-Coladas? Instead of a dessert table, how about cookies and milk.. It’s all in the presentation.. anything can look like it is fit for a queen if it is done creatively!
Goody Bags: Now remember this isn’t a birthday party… they are guest at your wedding.. think classy, upscale, functional and fun. Try a fabric bag with markers inside, they can decorate their own bag with their names on it. Inside have things like colouring pages, crayons, stickers, a craft kit or two, some playing cards, Playdoh or Lego. We want the times inside to have lasting entertainment value, not be too messy or noisy and contain them in one place. You can also add a juice box, granola bars, candy, and hand wipes.
DIY Entertainment: DIY projects are great ways to incorporate a piece of you, be original and customize your items all while sticking to a budget. There are a ton of great websites to print free wedding day printables, like colouring pages, mazes and more. You can do a Mad Libs version that is relative to you and your spouse-to-be. Make your own bubbles in a mason jar, or have a craft station set up at the wedding, perhaps kite making if its a summer outdoor wedding, origami, or a scavenger hunt i.e.. On this Wedding Day I see: 2 shiny rings, something blue, someone laughing, someone dancing..etc.
As long as you plan ahead, keep them full and entertained, the children as well as the parents and other guests will all have a better time. Besides, where would we be without those little rascals? We were all young at one point… embrace the love you are surrounded with and be thankful for the people in our lives.

WEDDING VENUE :: BROCK HOUSE
There is no questioning the fact that the wonderful late-summer weather makes for the time that is ideal to put a outdoor event on, and Vanessa and Ian’s wedding this past weekend was certainly no exception.
Vanessa and Ian’s service and party was an intimate experience. It was held at the scenic Brock House, which is a waterfront estate and wedding place. It added the charming and fun-loving couple together in front of their household and best friends.
Situated on Vancouver’s popular Jericho Beach, Brock House is definitely an elegant locale that provides awesome views of the mountain’s beautiful peaks and also both the ocean’s blue waters. Its outside gardens exude a peaceful ambiance, serving the perfect environment to get a truly magnificent affair.
With the regal estate in the history, the property’s front yard designed for some wonderfully creative shots with the bride and groom, its brick-lined drive leading right to the home’s main entrance.
The afternoon was filled with an air of excitement, with no shortage of warm wishes and enthusiastic emotions coming from every single person taking part in what was undoubtedly one of the biggest days in the couple’s lives together. The entire event went off without a hitch, with plenty of smiles and love shining from the souls of everyone in attendance.

VENUE :: BROCK HOUSE
It is beginning to look like Brock House is among the hottest wedding locations of this season. Satomi and Edwin’ wedding represents our next occasion in the picturesque Jericho seashore estate in just the past couple of weeks!
Satomi and Edwin’s wedding day got off to an early beginning in the luxurious Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel in downtown Vancouver with individual photo shoots. Pursuing a lively morning of before-wedding photos and preparing for the day’s celebrations, the bride-to-be as well, as the other young women in her celebration, ventured downstairs to the waiting limo, taking them away to a ceremony and reception that will resonate within their memories forever.
Getting benefit of the sights of that September day was nice as well as the scenic place, with their service before mid-day, enabling a complete day of reveling in the brightly glowing sun’s comfortable embrace . The reception started with lovely salsa dancing of Edwin and Satomi, accompanied by by yet another boogie – a surprise, done by Edwin for his wife. Following the world class food and the cake, an extraordinary dessert bar was opened to the invitees, letting sufficient time to socialize, have a tasty treat, and offer their sincerest best wishes to the couple.
We are happy the day turned out so incredibly, that the weather was perfect, and most of all that Satomi and Edwin allowed us to participate in their truly special occasion. Photographed by KONSTANTIN PHOTOGRAPHY

VENUE :: HARRISON HOT SPRINGS RESORT
PHOTOS :: VANCOUVER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER KONSTANTIN PHOTOGRAPHY
Earlier this year, back in June, we photographed and shared images from Meagan and Dylan’s betrothal shoot on Granville Island. Now, we have finally had the opportunity to view the lovely couple as they take their vows too! Today was the big day, and it absolutely was a really amazing time with Dylan and Meagan at Harrison Hot Springs Resort.
Encircled by the magnificent Coast Mountains, the Harrison Hot Springs Resort is about ninety-minutes east of Vancouver, in the village of the same name at the southern end of Harrison Lake. Functioning as a popular refuge for over 125 years, the resort is, in addition, a highly-involved wedding site. With a ballroom that is breathtaking, captivating gardens, as well as a waterfront shore, the place provides a perfect setting for any reception and service.
Meagan and Dylan’s wedding ceremony began at 3 p.m., a perfect time to take in the locale’s amazing scenery and enjoyable weather conditions. Many eyes undoubtedly were filled with tears of happiness as the ceremony went totally without a hitch. Later, following the receiving line, we were able to sneak away with them for a couple of minutes to shoot images with members of the two recently-joined families.
It is always rewarding to see the couples like Dylan and Meagan get married – after spending months, or even longer, working with and getting to know them. Congrats to the newlyweds!

So this is where all the Angels hang out…? Thousands of Vancouverites gathered at David Lamb Park, a few weeks ago, to celebrate the 3rd Annual Diner En Blanc. I have to say, it was a wonderful way to spend a Thursday evening with friends! Could you imagine this being your wedding? In a much smaller scale, I think it would be perfect!
Media were treated to complimentary refreshments and delicious aperitifs provided by Hawksworth Restaurant (thank you!), while guests attending the massive picnic arrived prepared with their tables, chairs, food and wine, to broke bread together. Many tables had decorative centerpieces and beautiful desserts and cakes, while some attendees even brought their furry friends including white doves! If a picnic in the park with 3,500 people wasn’t entertaining enough, live performances, dancers, stilt walker and musicians, adding a magical quality to the evening for all to enjoy.
It was lovely bumping into some industry friends like Natasha Frankowski of Greenscape Design & Decor with her friend Bianca Brian.
The lovely and oh so talented, Elsa Corsi, is sparkling, as per usual, in her beautiful jewellery. A popular jewellery choice among many of the guests, including me!
Table Leaders, Jasmine Hoffman and Stephanie Smith, looking pretty in their floral crowns by Celsia Florist!
Merci and congratulations to the Diner En Blanc organizers Tyson Villeneuve & Jordan Killman for pulling off a lovely event. It was a memorable evening with friends, fashion, fantasy and fun.
It goes without saying that Tom Ford is a creative genius! He’s a fashion designer, artist and film director; among many things. A few weeks ago, I was thrilled to be invited to the new Tom Ford cosmetic counter at Holt Renfrew, Vancouver, to experience Tom Ford Beauty first-hand. Upon arrival, I met Katherine Holmes, Executive Director of Global Communications for Tom Ford Beauty. We took a walk through of the pristine counter and played with the luxurious product line. I was extremely impressed, at the same time, not one bit surprised by the attention to detail Ford put into his exquisite packaging and branding. I especially love the TF logo embossed onto every product.
Tom Ford Beauty is a full cosmetic line comprised of luxurious skin care, smooth finish foundations, lipsticks and glosses, as well as beautifully pigmented eye shadows, blushes and nail lacquers. Tom Ford also offers a wide range of unique fragrances; 22 varieties in his Private Blend and 10 in his Signature Collection. My favorite is Black Orchid — a rich, dark scent on black orchid, spice, sandalwood and hint of vanilla.
Tom Ford Beauty is available exclusively at Holt Renfrew in Canada at the Toronto Bloor Street and Vancouver locations.

I’ve been asked to post information on how to shoot editorial for Perfect Wedding Magazine. The reality is this information should be used to shoot any image, whether it be fashion, commercial products or scenery but you need to remember the one golden rule: shoot loose!
is a term I use when explaining to other photographers how to crop photos. It is extremely important that there is enough ‘extra’ space around the image so the image can be adjusted and cropped for the page size. These days I see many new photographers shooting images full frame, meaning their ‘works of art’ are shot by composing exactly what the see in their viewfinder as the final crop – edge to edge to edge to edge.
Often, images need edges rebuilt so there is enough of that ‘extra’ image area to use in full bleed pages. For you newbies, bleed edge is what gets cut off when the magazine is trimmed to size. If there isn’t sufficient image area for bleed edge, or it simply can not be recreated, white area will need to be added around the image, sometimes decreasing the ‘impact’ of the shot. I’ll be posting more info on the different aspects to consider when shooting for a magazine, so check back soon.

We are often asked by our clients to come up with ideas and we keep trending towards the water to play with our imagination. In our latest project, we have embraced Sol’s childhood fantasies and dreams and have started shooting mermaid sightings staring my lovely Sol as the talent 🙂 .
Swimming in cenotes is always a challenge because its a bit cold, around 62 degrees, I have so much respect for Sol to be able to swim with this mermaid outfit and do it at depths of 5 -8 feet and for some distances. WOW, what a challenge! In the end, we are lucky enough to find water where the visibility is good enough and the setting fits just right so there are mysterious orbs floating around us and rays of light radiating downwards. I think the light beams become an extension to the outside world bridging our fantasy world with the real world.
